Degree, Transcript and Diploma Supplement Translation into German
Last updated: 2 October 2026
A Ukrainian Dyplom with its supplement, a Turkish Diploma and Transkript, a Syrian university certificate or an Indian mark sheet: when a German office or employer asks for your qualifications in German, every grade and remark counts. We deliver a sworn translation (beglaubigte Übersetzung) of each Zeugnis (certificate), transcript and grading scale, made by one of our partner translators sworn by German courts.
- Degree certificates, transcripts, diploma supplements, mark sheets and school leaving certificates
- Grades, credits, grading scales and remarks translated exactly as printed, never converted
- Names kept exactly as on each certificate, with your passport spelling in a translator's note
- PDF in 3 working days, signed original posted to your German address (usually 1–3 working days)
Fixed price from €39 per page · You see the price before you pay
How do I get my degree translated for Germany?
First, ask the office or employer whether it accepts your documents as they are. If it needs German, upload scans of your degree, transcripts and grading scale and see your fixed price. A translator sworn by a German court translates them exactly as printed. You get a PDF first and the signed originals by post. The office makes the final decision.

Which education documents do you have? Documents by country
Education systems differ, and so do their papers. Here is what people from our main countries usually bring:
| Country | Typical document (local name) | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| Turkey | Diploma, Transkript (often downloaded from e-Devlet) | Turkish text; apostille applies. We translate the barcode note too. |
| Ukraine | Диплом + додаток (diploma + supplement) | Apostille issued by the Ukrainian Ministry of Education. Always send the supplement with the diploma. |
| Russia | Диплом с приложением (diploma with supplement) | Subjects, hours and grades are in the supplement. Apostille applies. |
| Syria | شهادة جامعية (university certificate), transcript | Arabic text, ministry and faculty stamps translated in full. |
| Iraq | University certificates and transcripts | May be in Arabic, Kurdish or English. Legalisation is suspended; the office decides. |
| Afghanistan | School and university certificates | Dari, Pashto or English. The office decides whether it accepts them without further proof. |
| India | Degree, semester and consolidated mark sheets, 10th and 12th certificates | Mostly English; some in Hindi or a regional language. |
We translate final degrees, provisional certificates, transcripts, diploma supplements, school leaving certificates and the grading scale. A provisional certificate stays clearly marked as provisional, so it is not confused with the final degree.
Grades: translated as printed, never converted
We translate your grades exactly as printed, together with the grading scale. We never turn them into German grades. Universities and recognition offices convert grades themselves, many with the modified Bavarian formula. That is why the grading scale matters, whatever scale your university uses, for example a 10-point Indian CGPA.

The sample shows an example document with dummy data. Your translation keeps the table layout of your transcript or supplement, every subject, credit, grade and remark, notes on seals, holograms and photo, and the sworn translator's declaration, stamp and signature.
How we write your name
Names are copied letter by letter, exactly as on each certificate. Names in Cyrillic or Arabic script are transliterated. If your school certificate and your degree spell your name differently, each translation keeps its own spelling. Your passport spelling goes in a translator's note.
| On your document | In your passport | In our translation |
|---|---|---|
| Юлія Бондаренко (Ukrainian diploma) | YULIIA BONDARENKO | Julija Bondarenko (translator's note: passport spelling YULIIA BONDARENKO) |
| أحمد العلي (Syrian certificate) | AHMAD ALALI | Ahmad Al-Ali (translator's note: passport spelling AHMAD ALALI) |
| Rajender Kumar (Indian 10th certificate) | RAJINDER KUMAR | Rajender Kumar (translator's note: passport spelling RAJINDER KUMAR) |
If your office asks, add a name change document.
Common problems with education documents, and how we handle them
- 1Diploma without its supplement. A Ukrainian or Russian diploma alone shows little; subjects and grades are in the supplement. Offices usually want both.
- 2Many semester transcripts. An engineering degree can mean eight or more pages. A consolidated transcript can reduce the work, if your office accepts it.
- 3Re-exam or backlog remarks. We translate them exactly. A translator must not remove or soften any remark.
- 4Certificates in more than one language. We translate directly from Turkish, Arabic, Ukrainian, Russian, Dari or Hindi into German, not via English.
Does Germany accept my degree without translation?
Often, for English documents. The ZAB accepts documents in English (and some other languages) without translation. uni-assist also accepts English. For an EU Blue Card, the office often checks the anabin database first. But recognition offices for regulated professions, some employers and some public offices ask for German. Documents in Turkish, Arabic, Ukrainian, Russian, Dari or Hindi almost always need a sworn translation. Information on recognition is on anerkennung-in-deutschland.de.
When do you usually need a German translation?
- Anerkennung of a regulated profession, such as nursing, medicine or teaching. See getting your degree recognised
- Certificates that are not in English, for almost every office
- Some employers or public job applications that ask for German documents
- Sometimes as proof of education for a citizenship application or permanent residence (Niederlassungserlaubnis), if the office asks
Apostille and verification: Turkish, Ukrainian and Russian diplomas usually need an apostille. An Indian apostille is not valid in Germany; see our document verification guide. For Syrian, Iraqi and Afghan documents the office decides case by case.
What language are your certificates in?
We translate directly into German from Turkish, Arabic, Kurdish (Kurmanji and Sorani), Dari, Pashto, Persian (Farsi), Ukrainian, Russian and English, and from Hindi and other Indian languages.
Indian languages: English · Hindi · Punjabi · Urdu · Tamil · Telugu · Bengali · Marathi · Gujarati · Malayalam

What should I upload?
- Clear scans of every page the office asked for, front and back
- The diploma supplement and the grading scale page, if they are separate sheets
- A short note on who asked for the translation, so we translate the right pages
Usually a clear scan or photo is enough. Some offices want the translator to see the original, so check your letter.
Frequently asked questions about degree and transcript translation
Do I need to translate my English degree for Germany?
Not always. The ZAB and uni-assist accept English documents. Recognition offices, some employers and some public offices may ask for German. Check with the office first.
Do I have to translate the supplement of my Ukrainian or Russian diploma?
Usually yes. The supplement lists your subjects, hours and grades, so offices normally want it together with the diploma. Many also want the apostille translated.
Do I need certified copies?
Often yes. Many offices want officially certified copies (amtlich beglaubigte Kopie) of your certificates as well. Certified copies come from a Bürgerbüro or a notary, not from us.
Who can translate my certificates for recognition?
Usually a translator sworn or authorised by a German court (beeidigt / ermächtigt). Our partner translators are sworn by German courts. You can check them at justiz-dolmetscher.de.
Do you convert my grades into German grades?
No. We translate grades exactly as printed, together with the grading scale. The university or recognition office converts them.
Can you translate my Syrian or Afghan university certificate?
Yes. We translate from Arabic, Dari and Pashto into German, including every stamp. The office decides whether it accepts the document without further proof.
Do I need all semester transcripts?
Only what the office asks for. Some want every semester, others accept a consolidated transcript. Tell us who asked, and we translate the right pages.
Can you apply for recognition for me?
No. We only translate documents. We do not submit applications or give legal advice.
